Just a couple of months after the release of Microsoft's answer to the Wii and the Playstation Move, the Kinect has seen a humongous surge in popularity with every Tom, Dick and Harry tinkering with it coming up with extremely innovative (and some extremely disturbing) applications for it. As you may know, there are tons of such hacked uses for it on the PC.
But, apparently, Microsoft plans to add official PC support for the Kinect, thereby allowing you to connect your Kinect to the PC in a 'Microsoft-supported' way.
Steve Balmer in a recent interview with the BBC has stated that PC support is something that is part of the future plans for the Kinect. In the interview, the Microsoft CEO mentions ""We'll support that in a formal way in the right time, When we got an announcement to make, we'll make it."
Looks like I don't have to buy that X360 to enjoy the Kinect after all! This is why I love Microsoft! Sure they goof up at times, but they always seem to know that the way to a Gamer's is through Awesome Gizmos!!
